The Network for HIV/AIDS Research in Nigeria (NARN) is pleased to invite you for the 5th National Conference on HIV/AIDS in Abuja, Nigeria holding between the 2nd-5th May, 2010.
This conference will bring together policy makers, donors partners, researchers, clinicians, CBOS, NGOs, FBOs, and other relevant stakeholders from within and outside the country to address contemporary issues on the epidemic and national response strategies in the control of the disease. The 4th National Conference was held in 2004, since then the National response has witnessed a massive scale –up in most of it’s components.
At the top of the list are adult and Pediatric ART, PMTCT, HCT, OVC, Gender and same sex relationships, Home- Based and Community Based Care, task sharing and enhancement of laboratory capacity for diagnosis and monitoring of outcomes of care and support programmes
Over this period, there has also been an enormous increase in the various funding initiatives in the country. The 5th National Conference is therefore timely as it will provide an appropriate forum for all stakeholders to review our successes, challenges and also chart a positive way forward for the sustainability of the National response beyond 2010.
